Expression of glucose transporters in cancers
2013, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta - Reviews on CancerCitation Excerpt :Parente et al. [45] have observed expression of GLUT3 in all cases of melanocytic nevi, Spitz nevi, and primary cutaneous malignant melanomas. Overexpression of GLUT3 in relation to relevant non-cancerous tissue was observed in the case of carcinomas: brain [51], breast [52], gastric [47,53], head and neck [54,55], lung [53,56,57], meningiomas [58], oral squamous cell carcinoma [40], and ovarian [53]. It is to note that expression of GLUT3 is potential prognostic marker for oral squamous cell carcinoma [40].
