Furthermore, TYR has also been linked to Parkinson's and other neurodegenerative disorders [17–20]. Hence, tyrosinase inhibitors (TIs) have become progressively more essential in the food industry alongside medicinal and cosmetic products owing to their ability in reducing the accumulation of pigmentation resulting from the catalytic activity of the enzyme [21,22a].
