      A high frequency of mutations of the p53 gene is the most common features found in most human cancers [98], and, in those tumors in which p53 itself is not mutated, other factors may modulate its function to render it inactive. p53 is a nuclear phosphoprotein whose inactivation, either through mutation, selective interaction with cellular MDM2 protein, viral oncogene products, or alteration in subcellular localization, is correlated strongly with human cancer [99–101]. If p53 is phosphorylated at Ser 15, interaction between MDM2 and p53 is decreased [102].
