Cadherin switching in oral squamous cell carcinoma: A clinicopathological study
2023, Journal of Oral Biology and Craniofacial ResearchPterostilbene-isothiocyanate inhibits breast cancer metastasis by selectively blocking IKK-β/NEMO interaction in cancer cells
2021, Biochemical PharmacologyCitation Excerpt :The loss of E-cadherin promotes dedifferentiation, invasiveness, and metastasis in epithelial tumours and human carcinomas [64,65]. In fact, “cadherin switch” involving the upregulation of N-cadherin and downregulation of E-cadherin has been identified as a pre-requisite for EMT and a hallmark of metastasis [66]. Actin cytoskeleton and cadherin co-ordinate at intra-, trans-, and extra-cellular levels to maintain tissue integrity by sensing and accordingly, delivering the extra-cellular cues for cell proliferation [67].
Cadherin-integrated liposomes with potential application in a drug delivery system
2011, BiomaterialsCitation Excerpt :The changes in cadherin expression or “cadherin switching” plays a critical role during tumor progression [3,4]. A wide variety of tumor cells change from E-cadherin expression to N-cadherin expression [5,6]. N-cadherin plays a key role in the processes that are essential for tumor growth.
